Desert Center, CA is a small town located in Riverside County. It has a population of approximately 470 people, and is best known for its historical ties to the Old West and its unique desert landscape. Politically speaking, Desert Center is part of Riverside County’s 5th Supervisorial District. The current supervisor for this district is Chuck Washington, who was elected in 2012. In addition to the Board of Supervisors, Desert Center has two representatives on the Riverside County Board of Education: Patricia Shewmaker and Chris Robles. The Board works with the local school districts to ensure that quality education programs are maintained throughout the county. Additionally, Desert Center falls under California State Senate District 41 which is currently held by Melissa Melendez, who was elected in 2016. All these representatives work together to make sure that Desert Center’s needs are heard at all levels of government.
